There is so much music being played during cricket matches these days, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Quiet achiever Carey starting to enter rare air of Australia’s all-time wicketkeeping greats

The Roar has some very good Top 5s. 😊

Why 41 cricket writers? Does it have to be a prime number?

Given their W/L record, the other six English test players can’t be much chop.

Maybe a tailender played for the turn and missed his straight ‘un.

Not sure what he was attempting. A walk to the shops? A bit of line dancing? Just seemed to forget that he was playing in a cricket match.

No stumpings in Kerry O’Keefe’s 24 tests.

I think most of skull’s wickets were caught in the outfield. 😂

I even remember him as a ubiquitous figure through the awful, awful, awful 1970-71 Ashes tour.

I’ll keep my distance, then. 😊

Yes, a wiry little man who still liked to go the tonk. Definitely not a dwarf, though the terms “impish” and “elfin” are frequently applied.

One of the Murrays? (not sure which).

One of the things that sets King apart (in my view) is her flight. With her standard leg break she gets a lot of drift, so the ball drifts one way and turns the other, sometimes quite sharply. When she is bowling well she will employ subtle variations in length, depending on the batter. When she is not bowling so well, she can drop a little short (like most leggies). You are right about her not having much variation but it was interesting that in last night’s T20 her leg break didn’t turn as much. I’m not sure if this was deliberate variation on her part or just the wicket.

I think the international standard has been improving, which is why England’s poor form in this series is such a disappointment. Australia deserve a lot of credit. They are exactly what you say – an imposing team.

A friend of David Warner. Left arm spinner. First class bowling average 53.5. 30 yo journeyman who may or may not be in charge of ball management at Sydney Thunder.

Aussies make call on Smith’s elbow injury as Warner puts forward shock candidate to fill spin void

It’s really hard to understand, because Australia’s fielding was excellent, and it’s not as though England’s elite sporting teams lack funding. In general, they looked a bit tame.

Bairstow and Faf 😂 😂 😂

'What's the point of the spike?' Bairstow, Faf du Plessis unimpressed by DRS call despite huge gap

I can occasionally be feckless but I am definitely not faceless. I’ll back my face in a beauty contest ahead of Paul Suttor’s any day!

And also – saying that Gilchrist’s record dwarfs any other keeper is a bit insensitive to the likes of Tatenda Taibu, Romesh Kaluwitharana, et al.

Well done Australia.

England were a bit disappointing during the series. They didn’t play with the intensity you would have expected. On the other hand, just about every Australian player played a part in the victory.

I hope that the test match still gets a good attendance.

I think that’s what it says when you play the final four bars of the chorus of Yellow Submarine backwards.

Shut up Warner.

Well, then after the ad break Fatty could come back dressed in women’s clothing. That always went down a treat with sophisticated NSW audiences. Almost as funny as Singo’s “Where do ya get it?” ads.

I would much rather see Fatty Vautin commentating on the tennis. He could do it as Mahatma Coat – hilarious stuff!

Or Gus Gould. He’s very likeable.

I already hate the Tassie Devils. One more sweaty body in an already-crowded room.
