Yes, sending video highlights seems amateur doesn’t it.

One can’t imagine any recipients of the email thinking “Brown…? Dylan Brown…? Never heard of him.” and therefore finding the highlights package useful.

Rival club emerges as Brown destination after manager tests open market for Eels star

I agree with the thrust of this article – pitches now overly favour batsmen, and the occasional reversal of that should be welcomed.

But, I disagree about the SCG pitch. That just looked horrid. It was clearly not up to scratch. I love that the bowlers got some sideways movement/ assistance, but the bounce shouldn’t be wildly inconsistent.

Pitch perfect: Three-day Tests a small price to pay - batting techniques more to blame for shortened matches

What’s even more absurd that players of an international sport are decried for intimidating their opponents.

Intimidating ones opponent is key to beating them, especially when the talent spread is fairly even.

Australia was king for intimidating opponents in the past, and lauded for it. Now our coach is having a look that one of the baddies on the opposite team ate doing it to his player(s).

Boohoo

'Tough sport played by tough men': Indian coach hits back after McDonald claims they 'intimidated' Konstas

Such wonderful news.
Made my day!

Aussies make major change for fifth Test with debutant called up to replace veteran star

I agree.
I disagreed with Marsh’s Ashes selection in 2023, but full credit to him, he played very well and thoroughly deserved the AB Medal at the start of the year.
Since then however, his form hasn’t been good enough. He’s scored less than Khawaja and Labuschagne, who have rightly been under pressure, and done nothing with the ball.
The context is super important here. It’s the 5th test. Cummins said at the start of the series they’d have to rotate the fast bowlers, but they’re yet to. So he and Starc will be tired. They’ll need that genuine 5th option, which Webster is, and Marsh is not.
Surely Sydney is the perfect debut for Webster.

The real cost of selectors persisting with Mitch Marsh for the fifth Test

The big 3 (ENG, AUS, IND) only have themselves to blame.
They don’t subsidise the costs for smaller nations, and make decisions that suit their hip pocket, as opposed to what’s good for the game.
The smaller nations cannot afford to play big test series likes the big 3 do.

'Put more importance on T20 cricket': WTC format slammed after 'fifth-best team' South Africa qualifies for final

Yes, of course.
I even listed a racial discrimination claim where a similar word was used by an Indian.

I don’t think Guha has any case to answer, but she was right to apologise, because the term she used can be offensive. That’s what my comment was about.

'Chosen the wrong word': Guha apologises for Bumrah 'primate' comment, Jaiswal's warm-up accident foreshadows wicket

She used a word that has been used by racists (or a close variant of) to denigrate people with brown coloured skin.
Ala monkey, ape, gorilla. She said primate. These words are all associated.

Remember Andrew Symonds vs Harbajan Singh and ‘Monkeygate’?

That’s exactly what a lot of ppl said about the Broncs this year…

Didn’t pan out very well.

Great job Matty Ebden.

De Minaur snares third Newcombe Medal but shares award in surprise deadlock

Warner’s commentary is truthful and correct, but it’s more than a little ironic coming from Warner, who, apart from a couple of select scores (at home against SA & PAK), displayed very little form for the final 2 years of his test career!

'Still not convinced': Marnus hasn't silenced all his critics with Warner claiming he got lucky in Adelaide

I like Siraj.
But send off’s to a run-a-ball centurion are a bit silly, aren’t they.

I always think of Team America with Siraj…

Durka Durka Durka. Mohammed Siraj.

'F--k you, c--t': 'Absolute pumpkin' Siraj flamed for fiery Head send-off after epic 140, stunning Marsh act baffles everyone

Yes. This is a silly take.
Head is excellent at 5, and there’s zero need to accommodate someone else there, so moving him is simply not needed.

Time for Travis to Head up the order as booming ton and Boland brilliance propel Aussies towards victory over India

Let’s be realistic- the 19yo ISN’T currently knocking the door down…he’s just politely knocking.

I like him. With Bancroft’s form dropping away this season, I’m on the record as saying he’s next in.

But he’s only in the conversation because we’re desperate.

Mitch craft: Swing king Starc stars but clock is ticking on Khawaja as Aussies do complete 180 on India in Adelaide

On current form Labuschagne and Renshaw stay in Qld colours.

But the talent is there for them both to succeed internationally. That’s why I selected squads. Renshaw might have a bonza 2nd half of the Shield season, and follow it up next Shield season with a 1000-run season and demand selection. He is talented enough, but he’s running out of time to forge a long successful international career.

The selectors may not like it, but this is the top order Australia should roll with into the future

There’s some oddities in your write-up Oliver.
The main one being you stated the purpose of the article was not to react, but select a future side…yet you retained the oldest player in the team!

Future squads are difficult to select, as its impossible to crystal ball who will be in form, be injured, etc. I think post Ashes next year, our batting squad will lose Khawaja, Smith, and MMarsh, and look something like this (in no special order):

Top Order – Konstas, McSweeney, Renshaw, Kellaway, Labuschagne
Middle Order – Cam Green, Head, Ollie Davies, Jack Clayton, Cooper Connolly, Josh Inglis

The selectors may not like it, but this is the top order Australia should roll with into the future

I’m not prepared to go that far.
Some make the leap from FC to tests, some do not. I think Paris deserves a chance to show if he is the equal (or better) than Cummins and co.

He would have made an ideal replacement for Hazelwood in Adelaide.

Pace specialists: The five fast bowlers at the front of the queue to replace Australia’s golden trio long term

This is a boringly predictable list.

Joel Paris should be getting a mention here. He’s had a terrible injury run over the years, but is only 31 – a full 4 years younger than Scott Boland. And he’s in form, outbowling Jye Richardson in the game mentioned above.
His stats are awesome.

This SS season: 15 wickets @ 12.8
Career: 189 wickets from 47 matches @ 19.5 (econ 2.56, S/R 45.5)

Numbers far better than all the others.

Bolo deserves his shot, but if another bowler goes down, Paris should be first in line.

Pace specialists: The five fast bowlers at the front of the queue to replace Australia’s golden trio long term

Hang on – we shouldn’t get carried away just yet.
It was not long ago I was saying Konstas should be our next opener, but that was in the context of Bancroft – the best performing batsman in the SS over the past 2 – 4 years – being woefully out of form.

Bancroft scored a century in his last innings, and the next test runs concurrently with the next round of Shield matches. If Bancroft proves in this round – without a doubt – that he is back in form (e.g. a big daddy hundred / scoring way more than all other batsmen), then his weight of numbers of a number of seasons + current form should see him selected in front of Konstas.

I have no doubt that Konstas is our future. But I’d love to see him earn his baggy green through an extended run of performances.

Konstas catapults back into Test contention by blasting ton as big guns return for India

Webster should NOT have been picked 2 years ago. This is revisionist BS.

Cam Green was already in the team, and he didn’t get into the team until he had outperformed everyone in the Shield. Webster only started outperforming everyone last season. His selection now is warranted, but it certainly wasn’t 2 years ago.

Aussie selectors spare the axe yet again but there is one tactical blunder which can never be repeated

One of your best Dane

So many reproducible lines. My fave is “Australia has 99 problems and the pitch ain’t one.”
😂 😂 😂

Shame on you, Australia - you took David Warner for granted

I get it, but I’d rather a big dumb 10 gallon hat over no headwear.

Ton of true grit: Why Aussie selectors should not listen to Warner and bring Bancroft back

In fairness, Bancroft should have been selected to take over from Warner last year.
His form this season has been horrendous, but so has Renshaw’s, and he too has scored 1 century.

Now that McDonald has said Marnus will be selected for the Adelaide test, it gives Bancroft another opportunity to show this last-start century is indeed a return to form, unlike Renshaw (who’s failed in the subsequent 3 innings).

I hope he smokes them in the next match.

Ton of true grit: Why Aussie selectors should not listen to Warner and bring Bancroft back

This is a really poor comment Chad.
What Candice and Sonny Bill did – when they were both single – is their business and theirs alone.
This kind of shaming is BS. If you desire a lack of sexual experience in your life partner, then that’s cool – for you. Others enjoy having a sexually confident and aware partner.
I’d suggest your enmity for Warner emanates from a position of jealousy
