I’ve got the Knights in the bottom 4 this year, and O’Brien the first coach to go. Looks like they put all their money onto Ponga, and forgot about the remaining 16.

I like the Panthers to make it 5 on the trot. Whilst they continue to lose players (due to cap), this seems to have the benefit of refreshing their squad and changing their style slightly and adjusting accordingly. I can’t see many clubs worrying Panthers or Storm in 2025.

I think he’ll struggle to find a club, or if he does he’ll be taking a big pay cut. I can’t see his podcast making up the difference either,

Even though a few have moved on, it’s still a handy squad, but a couple of injury and suspension prone players that will be a worry for Robbo. I have them in the 8, but not by much.

Yes, injuries can be humbling, as are new signings. He won’t make the halves or fullback anymore. Centre is probably his only option in terms of first grade opportunity.

I don’t think Brown is worth the money. He was playing really well prior to that off field issue, he doesn’t seem the same since. Having said that, I’m sure a couple of clubs will pay him a nice dollar.
As for Orr whinging about clubs leaking emails – what did he think would happen? Orr probably sent it to the media anyway.

I have them in the lower end of my 8, but I’m not sure if this is more hope than anything else. I’d like to see the Fins get into the finals. They will certainly need Fleg playing soon, if not they’ll need to find a young damaging forward. Their pack is ageing. They haven’t lost any players of note, just need to keep their squad healthy. I really like Stone and Plath.

I don’t think the dogs will improve much this year. They exceeded all expectations last year, but I think they might find 2025 a bit tougher. I have them penned for an 8th to 10th finish.

Not a fan of the dual captaincy. And 2 first year signings. Thin depth in leadership.

I see the big risks as Benji, Desi and Robbo. Benji will need to show he has been able to improve the team and get them off last place, and quickly. Desi needs to prove players don’t go to the Gold Coast to semi retire. Robbo, near enough won’t be good enough – even though they have lost a few key players, expectations will be top 4. Madge will be safe, even with Tallis continuing to bag him. Plenty of talent in that team, he just has to teach them tackling is more important than nail polish.

South’s recruitment seems to be a combination of hope and bad luck. I was surprised that Cook was released, and also at the signing of Dodd and even Aitken to an extent. The unlucky part was Hunt came on the market, who I reckon Bennett would have jumped at, but they committed to Dodd. Hope the pommie goes good.

I think a lot of Lomax’s tries were off kicks. It came down to his enthusiasm to chase, which he didn’t show in the centres. Parra’s forward pack looks a bit underwhelming.

It seems to me the Titans have a fair few players that can play a few positions- but they can’t decide on which ones to play where. Perhaps a lot of generalists but few specialists?

I think their weakness could be a lack of speed in the halves and nine. I have my doubts about Ezra being able to get back to his 2023 form, if he gets back at all (reminds me a bit of Milf), and doubts on Reynolds fitness. They’ll likely make the 8, but I can’t see them threatening the top 4.

I think he has put in a lot more than $3m. The club was on its knees. He has every right to sell if he wants to.

I feel for Ilias. At Souths he was replacing Reynolds, now at the Dragons he’s replacing Hunt. Both big shoes to fill, and paint with the coaches son! Souths gave him some leeway based on his age and expectations- I don’t think Dragons fans will be too forgiving if he is slow to have an impact.
