The old melting pot theory from USA was disproven long ago as most ppl often retain ties to their ethnic identities. In terms of varied accents across different suburbs thats normal too and doesnt mean someone isn’t an Aussie bc they sound different to Warnie..

Well they really should be doing something, targeting young Safa teen front rowers would have been a fruitful move years ago via underage teams at the Force with a promise for Oz citizenship ( another well worn immigration pattern) but nothing much has been implemented, we do see dribs and drabs of Safas come thru Perth but theyre just migrants rather than scouted talent. Oz booting the force to the wilderness for a few years didnt help.
I dont think Australian rugby ever truly recovered from the damage super rugby did to it since the early 2000s when powerful scrummaging front rowers were discarded for mobile weaklings like Al baxter, Adam freir, Ben darwin and co.
Even the demolition put on the Wallaby pack in either 04 or 05 on the NH tour didnt change much in terms of front row selection for super teams as they had to be entertaining in the winter battleground of domestic sports here, which meant running the ball for spectators and less scrums, which of course means test level failures will be the result.

If players had to play for their birth country , Stephen Moore would be in Saudi colors, Merhts for the Boks, Percy for Namibia, Frawley, Lomax and Degroot for Wallabies, Hooper for England and plenty of kiwis for the PI

Look at more pattern if you wish. I’m pretty sure Reece etc was a targeted via scholarship which is a nz thing. Where did I say OS Irish and Scots cant be picked? I’m in favour of players making a good living in their short window and think its great having Hansen and others selected when they were ignored by the Brumbies/Tahs etc..

With regards to Au having foreign born players one needs to understand that possibly the most common regional migration pattern for decades ( along with born in PI migrate to Nz) has been ‘born in Nz migrate to Australia’ most often at a young age for economic reasons. Far different to any underhanded scouting of foreigners for the wallabies.

Samoa is a very diff scenario, they don’t actively poach anyone with targeted scholarship programs and never get a prime player from anywhere, just guys who never made it or are over the hill and washed up
