Fremantle was another team who had reason to be disappointed with their 2024 performance.

After climbing back into the eight in round 13 they remained there until Round 24 before finishing the year with two losses against final eight teams Port Adelaide and Greater Western Sydney to end the year in 10th place, two points outside the top eight with 12 wins, one draw and the seventh best percentage for the year.

Whilst it was an improvement on season 2023, it fell well short of season 2022 when the Dockers finished sixth, and season 2025 could be a make-or-break year for coach Justin Longmuir in his sixth year.

Top 100 Game Players Lost: 2.

The Dockers delisted two of their veterans at the end of the season, Matt Taberner (#35) in 12 seasons at the Dockers had only managed 125 games and only nine games in the past two seasons.

Despite winning the best first-year player award and kicking 173 goals (third-best for a current player), Taberner is now 31 years old.

Ethan Hughes (#42) is two years younger than Taberner, but in his 10 years at the club has only played in 107 games including only six in season 2024.

Top 100 Game Players recruited from other clubs: 1.

Shai Bolton (eq #87 – Richmond), although only ranked lowly on Richmond’s Top 100, Bolton who turns 26 next week should be a great boost to the Dockers with his ability to kick goals.

Current Top 100 Game Players: 18.

As one of the younger clubs in the competition with only 30 years of AFL football, Fremantle is well placed with 18 current Top 100 Game Players to choose.

Potential Top 100 Game Players Next Season: 4.

With a reasonably injury-free 2025 and barring no form slumps, Jye Amiss, Luke Jackson, Jaegar O’Meara and Heath Chapman could all be members of the Top 100 game players by the end of the 2025 season.

Players no longer qualified for the Top 100 Game Players: 4.

The influx of a number of new members this season, meant that Troy Longmuir, Bradley Hill, Rhys Palmer and Alex Silvangi all dropped off the list.
