Yeah I could see him playing wing. He has that goal hungry awareness tho, you know, like Cripps, which might be a waste if always running back to defend.

Have a really high opinion of a lot of them. But mentioning Merrett and Kako at the same time is my point. Hope Tsatas gets a good run at it this year and would be great if Durham doesn’t mess eagles up again, destroyed us the last two games.

You don’t rate Hutchinson? I think kicking multiple goals, even at local first grade is a good sign. Looks classy, not as much as Maric, defo good instincts tho. The big horse – Elijah, might outshine H this season, those two could be better than serong and brayshaw. Not grumpy, just elite focus.

Real astute Charlie, decent list. Yeoy can handle the pressure. Chesser, has improved every year, even with the wafl doing their best to make wafl eagles a shambles so it’s a credit to him, and played the difficult wing role a lot of last season. As long as he keeps improving and wants to stay, will be safe. See a bit of our co-captain Duggan in him with his courage. I think you could have added Liam Ryan to the list, because as you noted, we’re not lacking in mid-small forwards and he has all the talent in the world. But Simmo seemed to struggle to get the best out of him, obviously some hectic injuries haven’t helped but now with Owies, the other small forwards you mentioned and Cripps one of the first on the team sheet I think there’s a bit of selection pressure on him.

I agree. And apparently we’re training Barnett down back now, had high hopes for him because of his quick hands. Bailey and Flynn will do a job. Just been spoilt recently with Gardiner/cox/nicnat… Waterman looked so good out of the goal square, but I agree again, will thrive as a half forward too. Could be our Nick Riewoldt. And Oscar is our FF.

I think he is a forward, but can pinch hit in the ruck, and has already been serviceable when doing so. While only 21. I guess English is ruck that rests up front but the point was we didn’t need English.

Interesting to learn about McConnell seems internal turmoil has always troubled the dons. They’ve got some stars and more coming through. Just nothing like a premiership list now or in the future.

Cox would get destroyed in the ruck. The problem bombers have is that wright and caddy are at the opposite ends of their career. And that is the same for nearly every position on the list. Have never really bottomed out after the fiasco.
