It will be an interesting season with all the off-season changes. Good to see pressure on the small forward spots and some tougher bodies in midfield. Ruck and KPD will be the issues especially if McGovern goes down. Flynn did not look too fit last season and will be under pressure. A hopeful prediction is that Bailey Williams has a Tim English-style breakout year as a mobile ruckman. The recruitment of Baker et al takes the pressure off Yeo to be the aggressive player in midfield. 12th would be a successful season.

It’s pretty obvious that captain and coach should now resign. They are not in a position to win anymore trophies in the test arena.

Australia was well ahead after the first innings. India did well to hang in but it’s exagerrating to say a session was the difference. If you’re being generous India won perhaps 5-6 sessions out of the 14 full sessions played.

Im just asking re the data behind your assertions. I gather you agree that Ponting had a good captaincy record with an attack boasting McGrath, Warne and Gillespie and an excellent batting order. Someone else has also noted his winning record dropped to ~50% post some retirements. Quelle surprise.

Hack Darling. On a serious note – it should either be Bailey or Flynn with J Williams chopping out. What will likely happen sadly is Bailey and Flynn which is not the most mobile combo.
