Yeah, nothing says guilty more than threatening to take something to the Supreme Court then paying someone off when they call your bluff. If the AFL weren’t so gutless then they’d step in and hand out punishments like they do to the most minor things

Interested to hear Chris Scott’s thoughts on this. He was dead against it last year but now that his side is playing no doubt he will toe the AFL line. It’s an absolute joke that only half the teams are playing, there’s no reason whatsoever that 4 big teams can play up north and the rest can play around the country as per normal. Good thing I wasn’t playing AFL with a few of the bucks nights I went to back in the day. I don’t understand how they can be charged when no laws were broken, it wasn’t done in public and it was out of season for them. I’m not a huge fan of Dane Swan but he’s spot on here

At what age does an AFL player stop being a kid? Criminal law says 18. These blokes get that much education around these things that the ‘he’s only a kid’ line is a croc and a cop out. If they’re only kids then pay them apprentice wages for the first 4 years so they can appreciate what they’ve got

If Geelong can’t come up with a decent trade then walk him to the pre season draft where the Dogs would be mad not to pick him up again. He wasn’t really missed this year so he will only occupy a spot on their list next year. And if he refuses to play for them then that will be his loss, not anyone else’s

Not sure I can agree with this Pete. 99% of the issues are driven by Clayton and his management. Sure, Melbourne might not have been perfect but a time comes where in one person’s life where they have to just grow the hell up. Clayton needs to pull his head out of his you know what and appreciate what Melbourne have given him over the years. A change of manager probably wouldn’t hurt either

Now, I’ve got no issues with the AFL wanting to protect the head and all that jazz but Michael Christian has to go. His bias towards anything his old team is embarrassing. Everyone in the media a few weeks ago were saying that Lachie Shultz had to go for a dangerous tackle yet it didn’t even get looked at and it’s not the first time a Pies player has been given the all clear this year. There has also been a few occasions where a Pies player has been on the end of a bump or tackle where Christian has suspended the other player but when the exact same thing happened in another game then he sees nothing wrong with it. Laura Kane is the most gutless person in the AFL, she should be seeing all this and stopping it

Weak as p—- if Bolton leaves. He was gifted 2 flags with Richmond as he was only riding on the coat tails of his teammates both years. If he leaves it will be a bit like his footy, doesn’t like the hard stuff so he will pull out when things get a bit tough. I hope Richmond hold him to his contract

The club addressed this in March so obviously they don’t think there is a problem, might’ve been more of a hope this goes away situation. Some very serious allegations with supposedly more than one witness to a lot of the allegations.
