The thing is he is still relatively young – the jumping around as a #2 just seems not a good thing for a keeper who is only 32. I’d love to see him get consistency with a club – but maybe that’s not what he wants

NoMates is just a troll Monty I wouldn’t engage 😊

Adelaide United have got what every A-League club wants - home advantage

Maybe helps that he’s debuted for the national team

Love it. Helps that they’re playing well also. Perth could be similar if they had a team that was flying as well as Adelaide – perhaps Mariners and Newcastle too.

Agree but there’s no patience in these leagues unfortunately and they have to scapegoat someone.

I think the criticism will probably be: OK so you don’t have the cattle right now, why don’t you adjust your playing style to be a little more conservative until you can get more of your players back?

Ange vows to fight for Spurs redemption as another loss piles on pressure, United worst ever?

For me it feels like – if they’re not going to play Costa/Lolley, they may as well play kids. This Burgess is neither of these and I assume is now sick of sitting on the bench and wants to leave. Theory doesn’t work when you consider Sotirio – what a strange signing.

Burgess should leave though – he is a better player when he is a big fish in a small pond, and he would be absolutely perfect for CCM at the moment. Hope it happens.

Brisbane Roar FINALLY earn first win with massive boilover, Reds pinch top spot from Auckland

Thought of you immediately when I saw the score at half time 😂

Different stages of career though – Wood is young and needs games. Sotirio probably thinks he can fight for his spot

Young striker heads west in search of game time under Zdrila as former Wanderer crosses divide

Losing Circati and Souttar for a year is a huge problem I suspect. We’ve always been solid defensively and Circati wasn’t always apart of that, but I fear Souttar at the very least will be a big loss. I have never been sold on Rowles and Degenek isn’t getting any younger, Geria and Deng are solid but not spectacular in that position… will be interesting to see how that is sorted. A ruptured ACL and a ruptured Achilles is so unlucky for a CB pairing to get within a couple of months of each other.

WCQ Group C predictions: Do-or-die for Socceroos in vital window, can Saudis recover?

I’ve heard the same – if this happens I reckon Theoharous probably moves on as well to Perth

Not a bad shout – Hamzaoui is warming the bench anyway and competition for Lisolajski

Probably cheaper and (definitely) younger than Corey Brown so perhaps a bit more upside. He’s always been a fairly consistent performer. I’ve been surprised he’s not been picked up yet. But yes it would contribute to the merry go round that is bit-part A leagues players.

I’ve always thought Connor O’Toole very decent at A league level, wouldn’t mind seeing him given another crack

Haha I won’t hear a bad word about Simon Hill – He’s the best we have by an absolute mile and is a great advocate for the game with both his radio show and his commentary

Yeah commentators completely missed it though. I know a lot of the time they are not doing live commentary, maybe screens are small – who knows.

A-League Talking Points: Injury-hit City go top, Segecic’s sublime hat-trick, Victory winless in five

I also think it’s probably a combination of that/they are not getting game time here to develop and probably don’t want to loan to rivals in the A league

Worried Segecic was going to get crowded out by Lolley and Costa this year – then there’s Burgess and Kucharski, but he’s probably more important than both (Burgess at the very least).

Hopefully undroppable for a while now.

one of the youngest players to get a hatrick in the league – and i think all the rest have been socceroos regulars except Petratos (who I think was a little hard done by when he was younger). It’s good to see him playing. One reason I am not too concerned with Costa being out for a while.

apparently Lachie Wales and Tass Mourdoukoutas are signed so that is something – both probably in key positions for them

great stat

Rising stars show their class: A-League players who were the difference in Round 13

If you’re talking the run of the length of the field late in Perth v Auckland, that was Lebib not Anasmo. Lebib seems error and positionally prone but looks an athlete might be decent player moving forward if he can mature

A-League Talking Points: Injury-hit City go top, Segecic’s sublime hat-trick, Victory winless in five

AKL missed their chances but I thought Perth were moving the ball around really well in parts – and in other parts completely hoofing and wasting time which I absolutely do not blame them for. Happy to see them get the win. Brisbane next!

From what I have watched he is not able to produce often enough. He’ll score a banger against Equador but then spray 7 crosses out for goal kicks. Don’t think his end product is Socceroos quality consistently – although with our current issues someone who at least has a crack at goal even if it ends up in row Z

Socceroo Mabil released from Swiss club as Melbourne Victory's Geria gets set to depart A-League

Good to see so many coming through. Don’t know enough about them but agree with Politidis – looks a physical beast. Have always kept an eye on Caputo as well. Shame that Jmac left and then he got injured.

Thomas Deng’s current club, although I believe he has recently left. Maybe he’s replacing him!
