Lifelong football fan and recently returned 'Legends-level' player, with a particular affinity for teams in green and white and, secondly, green and black.

Thanks Brainstrust. For me – as a keen Western watcher – Tomoki Imai has long been their most consistent, versatile and key player. I’d venture he’s been among the best A-league signings ever.
He’s a model pro and the best mentor young Dylan could play beside. Agree on Bozinovski too; he’s getting better with every added game he plays. They are going to have to mix it up tho’; injuries/suspensions to a fairly thin squad will mean they have to play different formations, most likely upfront as well.

All nice and quiet on the Western front: How A-League's greenest team have outperformed cashed-up rivals

Appreciated Grem!

Thanks El…I think they’re the one with maybe the most complex operating challenges. Remember, they won the Championship in May, 2022 and now own their own stadium. So you’re right, they’re definitely doing somethings (right!)

@Guardian; my article was based on stats from Transfermarkt; the leading digital football platform for facts, statistics and community, with audiences of up to 30 million football fans. This is their, presumably well-informed, table:

They say Al Ahly has 96; that’s different to your data, which you should put them straight on!
My take also considers off-the-field metrics where Celtic really excel, so it’s my belief their on and off-field success is unmatched. Of course, Al Ahly, Linfield, The Rangers and Real Madrid fans might be miffed by that assertion.

Celtic become the world's most successful club - and all without an oligarch's cash

Thanks Connor; the final sure swung from end to end quite dramatically: good advert for the Scottish game if not for the blood pressure 😉

The article pointed out that relativity Marcel; but it’s still a remarkable feat to win 119 titles as well as do nine titles in a row twice, and secure quadruple trebles given that any team could stumble or fall on any given day against so called ‘lesser opposition’.

Nice, pertinent observations Knocka. A pal just pointed me to this UEFA survey showing more people attend top-flight football matches in Scotland than any other country in Europe as a proportion of population:

Hey El; I agree with your take on the club’s multi-faceted appeal; ‘Mes Que Un Club’ as another club once put it. Listening to Joe Hart and Kacper Schmeichel talk in recent times about the passion and scale they’ve encountered at Celtic is a great endorsement. Now, the players that Brendan is assembling really need to take it up another notch on the field !

Thanks Brendan. Yet looking tough for Marco on the wing, given the signing of Kuhn and the re-emergence of James Forrest. Word in Glasgow alluded to ‘need to step up’… maybe in terms of consistent form and physicality? Let’s hope Marco gets another run at Celtic Park.

The two lives of Riley: A Sliding Doors moment that is yielding two completely different footballing stories

True there’s so many variables at play; however Matt has had chance to learn from playing (mainly losing) against top Euro teams and learn from Ange and Brendan; two elite coaches IMO.
