The Non send off was embarrassing. I would expect a second yellow in an all age fixture let alone a Major English Cup Game.

The tackle was reckless, I don’t think there is any debate on that. The rules clearly state a Reckless tackle is a yellow card, In the case of a Reckless tackle the advantage situation simply doesn’t exist.

'He should have been off': Liverpool raging as Spurs rookie scores winner moments after lucky red card escape

New Zealand had 2 fast bowlers in 2024 Galle test. Will O’Rourke the New Zealand quick got match figures of 8 for 104 in that match.

James Anderson and Mark Wood have both been successful their too. I think playing 2 quicks and 2 spinners with Webster and Head as back up options is the way to go.

Australian Test squad: McSweeney set for recall, veteran star out of Sri Lanka tour, bolter shoots into frame

Edwards is more of a bowling all rounder these days. Sits 3rd on most wickets in the entire shield competition with 20 at an average of just under 22. He is closer then alot of people think.

Australian Test squad: McSweeney set for recall, veteran star out of Sri Lanka tour, bolter shoots into frame

I think the starting 11 for Sri Lanka in order
1. Konstas
2. Head
3. Khawaja
4. Smith
5. Labuschange
6. Webster
7. Carey
8. Starc
9. Lyon
10. Boland
11. Kuhnemann

I have heard they are taking 16
So add
12. Handscomb
13. Connolly
14. Murphy
15. Paris
16. Richardson

Your probably only playing 2 quicks in Sri Lanka. If Cummins is unavailable, It has to be Starc and Boland. Hazelwood is too risky given they will only play 2 quicks.

In my opinion on performances, Boland has to play regardless.

Hoff or Bolo? The pace dilemma brewing for Aussies ahead of Sri Lanka tour, Cummins backs Khawaja for Ashes bid

Sunil should have been part of the presentation, simple. Poor form Cricket Australia, Imagine the carry on if AB wasn’t part of the Presentation in India.

Kohli thinks he is the main attraction at the game , hence that’s why he carries on so childish. With India playing against England next it might be time for Virat to retire. His average is going backwards quickly, now 46.85. By averaging under 50, I can’t see how he can be considered a great of the game. More so a very good player that’s all.

Konstas, still has alot to prove. Has anyone seen him play in shield cricket? His strike rate in Test cricket in the short period in the test team is 81, but his strike rate in first class is 54. He needs to bat conservative now, otherwise he could easily be a scapegoat at the selection table if a loss occurred. Damien Martyn was dropped for a bad shot that was part of a loosing game against South Africa over 30 years ago. His shot was loose , not a slog.

'Would have loved to': Gavaskar hits out at trophy snub, Kohli's 'garbage' sandpaper sledge, Konstas savaged for 'almighty slog'

What I want to know is why there wasn’t a game on last night? Are we just giving the Big Bash and Basketball a freebie?

A-League tipping: Round 12 - Phoenix and Mariners chase consistency, Jekyll and Hyde Bulls eyeing off top four

I think the selectors have done a good job this summer so far. The Webster decision was correct.

I think it’s far too risky picking Starc, Australia has probably 6 fast bowlers who could easily do a job.

Aussies make major change for fifth Test with debutant called up to replace veteran star

Agree, All Ben Khafala’s talk should have been behind closed doors. It all became really awkward for all parties after that.

It would have been good to get the real reason behind Mata starting from the bench after that to put the issue to bed.

'Every player wants to play': Mata finally opens WSW account but Drew brace fires Bulls into second

Para + Ten great commitment in pumping up the league, keep up the good work.

I’ll be in Wanderland this afternoon, it would be nice if Western Sydney’s former fans were too

It is, Into round 11 and Jets have had 2 Byes already. Smaller clubs don’t get the big calls.

I’ll be in Wanderland this afternoon, it would be nice if Western Sydney’s former fans were too

Crowds are ok, it doesn’t help that Channel 9 and Channel 7 give the A-LEAGUE hardly any coverage. Pretty poor considering they are happy to jump on the Socceroos and Matildas bandwagon.

What doesn’t help is the scheduling, As a Jets fan it’s been frustrating. Only 2 home games so far, 2 byes already also??
Not much on in Newcastle the last week but no games, very frustrating. Should be flooding the games on at the moment. The Cricket has been excellent which doesn’t help football.

100% agree

Jhye high: Fringe quick ready to grab chance for Test recall if Starc succumbs to injury

I think everyone agrees, Marsh to be dropped. Starc should be rested up for Sri Lanka.
In comes Webster and Richardson, Simple.
Make the changes and move on.

Test Mortem: Aussies need to make two key changes, MCG pitch perfect, ban bails by-play and Pant’s too high for India

That will never happen, Australia on home soil should be picking teams to win games not draw

Test Mortem: Aussies need to make two key changes, MCG pitch perfect, ban bails by-play and Pant’s too high for India

I think a spin bowling all rounder could be more beneficial for the Test team then a medium pace all rounder.

This still allows the team to play 3 quick bowlers. Connolly possibly the only player who eventually could fill this role. Ben Manetti from South Australia could be an option but would have to improve.

One never mentioned is Chris Green, First class batting average of 40 and bowling average of 30.8. These statistics are over 17 First Class games, so they are a fair reflection of how well he has gone. Decent fielder as well. NSW have used Jack Edwards at no 7 and Chris Green at no 8 in the Sheffield Shield, this has allowed them to play 5 guys that can all bowl 20 plus overs when required.

Test Mortem: Aussies need to make two key changes, MCG pitch perfect, ban bails by-play and Pant’s too high for India

Paris is quality, statistically hard to beat.

Alot of people are mentioning Richardson has only played 1 sheffield shield game this year.

It must be noted that Richardson has also played 2 Futures League games this year. They are also 4 Day games, so his preparation is OK.

Key stat puts Starc in a class of his own: Why back scan could decide Border-Gavaskar Trophy

100% JR, What about Joel Paris? He had bowling average of 19 in First class cricket.

This year he has 15 wickets at 12.8

Left armed like Starc

Whatever happened to accepting the umpires decision?
Clear deviation, He was out. Good on Pat Cummins for calling it that way in the press conference. Pat had an awesome test, got nearly all decisions correct.
Well done to the selectors, copped plenty for picking Sam Konstas. But the decision payed off, He gave us a platform in the first innings that we hadn’t had in the previous 3 tests.
90% of crickets finances are from India, But I feel India expect too much in return. The Vice President of the BCCI comments that Jaiswal was ‘clearly ‘ not out were inaccurate and unprofessional. Clearly he should stick to Board matters.

India fuming over controversial Jaiswal dismissal as Cummins gets sweet vindication in Australia’s epic MCG win

Apostolos Stamatelopoulos needs to be given an opportunity in the striking position. Also let’s bring in Anthony Carter, top Scorer in the Portuguese 2nd Division.
Mitch Duke has been a good servant, but he needs to be looked at a bench player from now. He doesn’t start for his Japanese club, But he starts for the Socceroos?

What can Socceroos glean from rivals' Gulf Cup campaigns?

Tottenham have lost 9 game this season so far, fans want to be entertained but they more importantly want results.

Ange needs to be somewhat successful, As otherwise he will probably never get another EPL manager position. At least at a top 10 club like Tottenham.

I’m sick of hearing about injuries, They happen. He should have invested more depth into his central defence.

'I'm in charge, it hurts': More bad news for Ange's Spurs, Salah superb as Reds extend lead and City get back in winner's circle

Excellent story, The past week or so I have done alot of thinking about Phil Hughes. Like many his death saddened me greatly, I always thought about the ‘What if’ moments with him.

The obvious ‘What if’ was surrounding his passing, If he did get that Test recall would have he got an extended run in the team? Was he about to come into a purple patch of form? Those questions unfortunately we will never know. But let’s not forget only a few months before his death he hit two 200’s against South Africa A.

The second ‘What if’ surrounded his first dropping from the test team in 2009 which was mentioned by Robert. Yes , Usman Khawaja did mention in the documentary how rough he thought it was. I remember it clearly, I remember that Phil Hughes leaked his axing on social media before it was officially announced. For mine it was his way of dealing with the extreme disappointment of getting dropped. Let’s look at his three scores before he was dropped 36 ,4, and 17. Hardly the sort of figures that demand being dropped. For mine that ‘What if’ moment changed Phil Hughes’s career. If the selectors backed him he could have been one of the country’s greats, I don’t doubt that. After all his Junior career was outstanding, His lead up form before test selection was outstanding.

If he was coming through now the current Leadership of McDonald and Cummins would have backed him. Marnus went through alot worse period then that, And he stayed. David Warner scored over 10, maybe three or four times in the last two Ashes Series and he kept his spot.

Robert, your correct the selectors can’t make a Terrible mistake like that if another Phil Hughes comes along.

It was interesting to hear Khawaja , Cowan, Katich , Ponting, Clarke and Finch talk about him. It would be interesting to hear Warner, Haddin, Henriques and Steve Smiths thoughts? Interesting to know if they were approached? I could totally understand if they declined through the overall Sadness of his passing. I would totally respect it, It was a tough period.

Memo to selectors: The next time a player as special as Phillip Hughes comes along, don't try to change him

Problem is the obvious ‘Boys club’. All the team are extremely close, when was the last time a player got dropped? Bancroft, Harris or Renshaw? How many chances did they get? Marnus has been poor for a long time.

Aussies on edge of a cliff as quest for greatness morphs into battle for survival - and to avoid unwanted 36-year first

100% Paris should be in, Ridiculously good statistics.
