Surely Elon’s actions today from day one are a concern?

My friend Gav died from heartburn this morning.
I can’t believe Gaviscon.

Not sure why Australia lets any of this bother us – it is meaningless.
Focus on playing good cricket as a team and continue the current excellent form. That’s what you play team sport for.

Remember those comments that Kyrgios made to Wawrinka? And when he was fined for that verbal abuse of the umpire in Miami? And when he was fined for abusing the crowd in multiple venues. And all of those hundreds of thousands of dollars for audible obscenities and unsportsmanlike conduct?

Who would have been stupid enough to say those things on live television?

WATCH: 'On live television, mate!' Kyrgios sticks the boot into Tony Jones with Djokovic skit

Was a bit unsure about this one but now that Kyrgios has come out in support of Djokovic, it seems clearer. Kyrgios is actually capable of making Jones look better with every comment he makes in favour of Kyrgios.

I think Jones also knows that this issue will help improve his media profile as a potential ‘drama’ figure.

Making a joke that isn’t funny does not equal a human rights abuse.

Mahatma Coat wouldn’t have made it to the first ad break before the switch was pulled.

The comments by Jones weren’t particularly funny but were in no way meant to be taken seriously, or mocking, which Jones has acknowledged.
I’m not a fan of Jones but this is looking for a drama. I imagine Federer and Nadal would either have found it moderately humorous or were neutral to it. They wouldn’t have made it about themselves.

Probably because he cannot relate to the real world in any meaningful way.

I’ve heard them weaselling out of things.
😊 Oh, I’m on fire. I’m here all week everybody …

Oh well played, Pie Cart. Nice work. 😛

This is another “drama” from the Australian Open:
Danielle Collins: crowd behaved very poorly. Her response was initially OK, however she came out looking as bad as them with a tone of materialism evident in her interviews.
Tony Jones: behaves badly (but clearly not meant to be serious or a human rights issue 😁 ), however Djokovic tries to feign oppression and looks like he’ll do anything to create a victim label for himself. And he called Jones ‘famous’; he’s clearly delusional and trying to ‘big up’ this issue.
It’s all kind of lose / lose / lose / lose.
Are they trying to confect a drama?

But he wasn’t asked to speak to a crappy journalist last night. He was asked to speak to Jim Courier. He is certainly not obliged to speak to Tony Jones – who could blame him?

I don’t think anybody watching that telecast (except Djokovic) believed that was serious. I’m not remotely a fan of Jones and would hang him out to dry for many other things. Jones has apologised and stated it wasn’t an insult. Issue over.

Whoah, whoah … steady up, Choppy. Ferrets can be windswept and interesting. And funny.

I think this one’s a nil-all draw.

Agree with all you’ve said; I certainly don’t have any sympathy for Collins on this issue.
But I also believe our role as a country is to lead, not to just say we’re better than the US in relation to this. We need to set the example and stick to it
A starting point would be to educate the spectators, starting small, (eg: we don’t applaud faults.) If the spectators refuse to do this, then they have to accept the labels that are given to them.

Danielle Collins had the guts to call out the bogan-ism that is ruining the Australian Open

Much of this is true, however it is not a defence to our own poor behaviour. If we just keep saying, “other countries are worse”, then there is motivation to improve. And there needs to be.

The main comparison we need to do is with ourself, not other countries. If our crowds are getting worse, a plan needs to be adopted to diminish the problems.

I remember at the last Olympics there was a great moment in archery where Guatemala were going to win their first ever Olympic medal. They cut away to the equestrian where an Australian was competing! Very disappointing and absolutely embarrassing that we can’t celebrate the win of another nation.

It was a lose / lose situation.
The crowd can’t complain when it’s given back to them by someone they jeered.
Her smug materialism, however was pretty embarrassing for her.

Yes, he plays the ‘I don’t know who you are cos I’m so superior’ card every time. He has nothing else. Not sure there’s much more than a one dimensional personality there.
