The Victorian government paid for the super round, and with the poor attendances and interest they’ll probably won’t bother to renew their contract. I doubt any other state government would bother funding it either.
So not sure if it will exist in the future as who is willing to pay to host it?

The alternative was for NZR to create 3-5 brand new NZ franchises, something NZR doesn’t have the desire or/and ability to do. The failing MP franchise was funded by several people not based in NZ.

The NZ market has no competition now with Sky’s new competition: Spark, already folded. Not sure why Sky would keep paying a premium for the product when unnecessary.
