On statistics alone, Australia's top four is set to score at a slower rate than we are used to - so do we need to find a Warner 2.0?

It could be argued that many games of rugby league hinge on just a few key moments: a dropped ball with the line wide open, a field goal that hits the crossbar (I’m talking to you Benny Elias), or according to most fans, a refereeing decision or two, or three.
Haddin was a genuine bat.
Quiet achiever Carey starting to enter rare air of Australia’s all-time wicketkeeping greats
Number of misses per test would be a much better stat, even then it would be good to have them categorized by difficulty.
Can you just pop back through the last 40 years of Cricinfo ball by ball and put this together for us? 😂

SA, NZ and India have improved, but England haven;t replaced their ageing players as well.

Their depth of batting is awesome.

Given there is Gordon and Sami available in that squad, I’d be moving Kelly onwards.

Great starting forward pack. Their bench is thin and their injury cover is even thinner.

“Seasoned forward”. That’s a nice way to say it.

this was the conversation that you replied to:
ME: Every batsman in history apart from Bradman fails in over 50% of innings. If that is your criteria we have no one to select.
YOU: No they don’t.
And the answer definitely is: Yes they do.

Laver is the only other contender. Two calendar grand slams, with seven years in between where he dominated the professional game, effectively winning the grand slam there as well. I think Novak has him covered however, for relentless longevity.
Sorry, ESPN: It's absurd to suggest LeBron James is greater than Novak Djokovic
Just for your info Bush,
In late 2021, I did my own analysis:
The top 97 run scorers in history on average scored a century every 8.7 innings. Bradman was 2.7 and Nov 2021 era Smith was every 5.1 innings.
That top 97 scored a 50 once in every 3.2 innings. Bradman was the only one to beat 50%, with once in every 1.9 innings.
I can’t make it any more plain. All batsmen fail more than they succeed. It’s the nature of batting. And its not an opinion.

I ignored it because you decided to make it fit over 50% by removing the section where he failed. I responded to the others as a laugh given they played between 1 and 5 tests.
Whole studies have been conducted on this. For example from late in 2021, i did my own analysis:

Sorry, my Maybe was in response to your “Maybe we should”. I agree that two of the three new players made a difference (McSweeney not so much).

But how to monetize it is the question
Will Australia have the Galle to play just one fast bowler in Sri Lanka - Starc or Boland for solitary role?
It’s even better when his Voges response is worse 12 successes out of 31

Voges innings list is 12 successes and 19 failures. Thank you for playing. 😁

I will be very happy if he gets the job and we keep winning.
Smith under cloud for Sri Lanka as Kuhnemann clings onto hope despite broken thumb
Yes, I’m assuming that it will be a bunsen, but they definitely need to actually see the pitch first 😁
Will Australia have the Galle to play just one fast bowler in Sri Lanka - Starc or Boland for solitary role?
We do not and never have, changed 4 out of a top six within 5 tests. That way is madness.

Wisden didn’t think anyone from Australia or South Africa was worthy of the World XI. A lot of moral victory Englishmen with losing records in that side.
