Rugby's rotten flaw: Why it's time for World Rugby to protect southern nations from northern raiders
The problem is those players going on to play for their new country. No problems if Aussies, Kiwis, Saffas etc, play overseas but are still available for their home country.

But Border was about 26 over that period. Marnus is 30. Not really a comparison.
How do you solve a problem like Marnus? The four options facing selectors as dry spell turns into drought
Slam the door on four test careers Who? Marsh had already been dropped. Cummins and Hazelwood were never going to tour. Who is the fourth to be dropped, Hanscomb’s last test was nearly two years ago and Maxwell’s 7 years ago. Some newbies to go on tour, great! I would have like to see Rocchiccioli get a run, Starc would appreciate a rest
Selectors slam door shut on four Test careers after finally looking to the future with new-look tour squad
Maybe but Boland is 35 Hazelwood and Starc are both 34 and Cummins 31. So for another season down the track, I would see Cummins as the only guaranteed starter. As it stands, Knstas is the one player under 30.
We’ve qualified for the WTC final regardless of how SL turns out. I would pick a youngish side based on form (sadly the only current form is T20) and previous Shield form.
Flem’s Verdict: Aussies have a Big Four with Boland no longer a back-up, SCG pitch not up to scratch and Beau knows Test cricket
It won’t happen and as I said, the money’s too much here. That’s why SA won’t summer tour.
We haven’t toured over this period since prior 1979.
Test cricket's two-tiered crossroads: Will revenue triumph over fairness?
“but when it comes time to playing Australia, we know whose bread will be buttered first.” That is why we haven’t played a series against SA in the last three years and I can’t see any changes to this.
The proposed changes will only be a further money spinner for the big three and bugger the others.

No but if you giving series ratings?

Interesting, you rated McSweeney who played 3 tests but not Marsh who played 4.

Why not blame Bumrah, he is the captain. Of course it was like in the last test where India didn’t want to have to bow another over so they used go slow tactics. So OK when India doews it but wrong when we do it? Riiight.
Kohli in strife again for intimidating Konstas in over the top wicket celebration
Doogie, they’ll probably pull Konstas up for hos chirping but nothing for Kholi or Bumrah.
Kohli in strife again for intimidating Konstas in over the top wicket celebration
To complain about go slow tactics so another over wouldn’t be bowled is totally rubbish since India have been doing this whenever things look like getting away from them while either batting or bowling. As a captain Bumrah showed how it should be done in the first test, pity he’s forgotten about it (not his bowling though).

On the “catch”. I thought it was fair but my opinion doesn’t count. As the old Chad and Jeremy song goes “that was yesterday and yesterday’s gone”. No point in complaining about something we can’t control. If we want to gripe about anything how about the five chances put down. Hang on to these and India would have been gone for 120-130.
Relentless Boland rampant on SCG seamer, third umpire under fire over contentious calls as Aussies rip through India
Agree with you on our team. Including Webster all the bowlers are 30 and over. In fact Konstas is the only player under 30. India has done well with picking Jaiswal, Gill and Reddy. Washington isn’t a bad choice either.
For our tour coming up we need to look at blooding some younger players.
India won’t ever truly rule the cricket world if they keep acting like privileged prima donnas
But SA would like a Boxing day test for the same reasons but that will not happen agaon. The days of us having summer tours are long gone.

They have done just that. India 6 for 125 after 61 overs.

Our journos are no worse than the media in both England and India. It is a professional game and to promote the game players and team management need to utilise the media note rail against it.
Precious and paranoid: Indian players don’t even trust each other as they treat fans and media with contempt
There’s the problem, money. So many players keep on for the money. It was obvious neither Hazelwood nor Marsh were fit to bowl min a five day game but pulling out would affect their earning ability.
As well we are having players saying when they will retire. Warner wanted one last summer before he retired. He got it. Khawaja has said he will retire after the next Ashes series. Again comes down to earning capacity. Also the selectors not wanting to upset players by dropping/retiring them.
Will rotation work or will it just delay the inevitable.
Proper rotation policy needed now so Aussies can extend careers of pace aces while giving next-gen guns a run
Two openers from Hunt, Renshaw and Konstas. McSweeney to 3, he isn’t an opener. Sorry but Marsh has to go. A 5 for scoring 5 and 2 and as the allrounder bowling 2 overs. His selection has to be looked at. Was he unfit? I’d look at Webster of Fraser-McGurk to replace him. Sadly, I see the only change being Boland.
Every player rated from the third Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test: Who's going worse - Australia's top three, or Rohit Sharma?
The only way we’ll find out is to give them a run. I think Uzzy and Marsh will be lucky to stay. Maybe Henry for Khawaja and Webster for Marsh.
Malcolm Conn: Head and Smith deliver in very different ways but a couple of teammates need salvation
Agree on your comment that McSweeney is in the best form but he didn’t score those runs in the Shield as an opener. Henry and Konstas to open with McSweeney dropping down. I think Marsh will be lucky to stay and Marnus went cheaply again.

Not just that but thr players association has a maximum number of games their players can play.
