I thought big Will wasn’t available for Ireland as it’s outside the test window?

Not going to lie, I thought JS was a mistake, money that could have been spent on the next generation. If he continues in this vein, and one swallow does not make a summer, he could create a whole new generation.

Do the black cocks do a haka before their badminton games?

'Loaded the gun': All Blacks skipper warns Poms to expect retribution over Marler's haka sledges

Nah. Let’s wait a couple of years and go to 5 then wait a couple of years and go to 4 teams. That way the competition continues to change every few years, and continues to lose whatever relevance it once had. That’s the goal right? And I refuse to buy into any more ‘RA is incompetent’ arguments because if that’s the goal they are doing a marvellous job

The Wrap: Rugby Australia’s high performance focus dooms Super Rugby into further irrelevance

Tks. Will try

Harsh reality in the clamour for Giteau Law picks - there are just two overseas Wallabies Schmidt should select

Less than Sualli, mind you, RA stitched up the NRL by only losing an, arguably world class winger, and a promising 10 where Australia has no depth issues… oh wait

I just think he doesn’t have the cattle. Steve Hansen made a good point, you aren’t in the wallabies because you’re an elite athlete, you’re there because you have the potential to be an elite athlete. Successful countries now have pathways which develop elite athletes before they’re selected for national honours. We don’t have that because of two decades of mismanagement which continues today. It won’t, however, continue much longer, it’ll be completely dead soon.

'Absolute rubbish': Wallaby great rinses ex-All Blacks duo after saying New Zealand under 'all the pressure'

Brett Robinson ticks a few boxes for mine. First he’s Australian and as such knows his stuff by default. Also, how good that there won’t be any hint of biase because rugby won’t exist in his country of origin for much longer anyway.

'Mission critical': World Rugby is facing an 'existential threat' - a former Wallaby wants to ensure the game's future

Ref blame, haka whinge and another sure fire sign that All Blacks have succumbed to a losing culture

Yeah the wallabies often do the dumb stuff at the end of a game. At least NZ have two easy games at the end of TRC

My point is quantity and quality isn’t an option

Could this NRC-style model save Australian rugby, and is anyone brave enough to try?

Agree KPM. One comment I find a little hard to believe is the line from the Stan ‘insider’ that they want quality not quantity. I’d suggest they would actually want quality AND quantity, they just know this is not possible with only 4 Aus SR teams. A model like this helps with that

If RA had a case for instant dismissal due to gross misconduct, why did RA have to pay out his contract? $4m is a lot if they were in the right…

'I'd fit straight in': Folau says he'd walk into Wallabies, opens up on career switch and THAT post

And he needs to play the ball I think, I’d say he’d be one of the quickest over the first 5m but a prop would run him down over 20m

Exclusive: Wallabies lose key back for rest of TRC, Schmidt mulls playmaker options with Lynagh in doubt

Appreciate the feedback Nick, and well made points around a 3rd tier not having to be profitable in and of itself. Harder to quantify but it would generate more revenue in the long term by providing for a strong Wallabies set-up. 15 games per season for a non wallaby is a telling stat. More to come I reckon

The missing link RA must back to arrest Wallabies' decline - and the short term fix needed right now

Agree. And at half time in game 2, @tonyharper, can you please edit out anything about NZ’s decline in the article? Hopefully I’m asking the whole article be deleted at half time in the wallabies game but I think it should be fine. But yes, for Super to work for both countries that is key. Depth and competitiveness in the competition, and Australia aren’t bringing that right now and although the rebels players adding to, the now, 4 other sides in Australia that may help. But it’s also a short term fix and will hurt the pathways for players coming through for the next couple of years. Worse than what happened with the gorse because the rebels don’t have a benefactor to create a whole, brand new, competition to keep the rebels alive. Interestingly, if RA had kept the Force back then perhaps Twiggy’s money could’ve been used to support pathways across Australia. Another pretty clear example of RA asleep at the wheel blaming ‘challenging headwinds’

I didn’t expand on the NZ decline very much, and decline may be the wrong word. Rest of the world catching up maybe? But I think they will decline at the top level if using the Super rugby competition as their top flight competition, which is unarguably in decline. Gone are the heady days of Crusaders getting experience against a top SA province on the highveldt

The missing link RA must back to arrest Wallabies' decline - and the short term fix needed right now

Yep, same!

That’s great for your nephew and a well made point

Another great option, there’s some great ideas, just need some oversight, maybe we need some kind of oversight organisation to review and implement a holistic approach, and stick to it. We could call it Rugby Australia
