I truly believe by the time 2027 rolls around we will have some world-class matchwinners in the conversation.
Yes, plenty abroad, we certainly punch above our weight in talent, but those ones made up a few of the bigger names.

Love this as an idea!
While I can see why World Rugby are trying to push forward with this Rugby Nation’s Championship, it will devalue a World Cup and I think we actually lose a lot with the dropping of a test series. There are so many good narratives to come out of those series, even in recent times thinking back to the Eddie Jones tours when England came in 2016 and 2022, or the France series in 2021. Maybe we could take a ‘back to the future’ approach and encourage more traditional tours including midweek fixtures between super clubs and ‘A’ teams for low prices at smaller stadiums like a Ballymore or Leichardt Oval. I think if that Wales v Reds game taught us anything it is that there is an appetite for it.
Rugby Ashes could be better than the Bledisloe - and a perfect response to Bok vs All Blacks tours
Fair point I forgot about that one
Exclusive: Wallabies forced into changes for vital TRC fixture, with Donno AND Jorgo set to start
I think in terms of skillset they are similar, Donno may be a touch more physical which allows him to take on the line more (thinking about NL pass to frost when he was under pressure). We do lose a bit of cohesion in the back line, while he has played with Gordon, there no one outside him who he would have played significant time with.

Wouldn’t surprise me if there were some changes to come to the tour in coming years and teams/countries will have to bid for the opportunity to play them in a series vs a one off warm up (like they will against Argentina in Dublin before this tour kicks off).
I think it is only a matter of time before they tour France. And again there is not a rugby fan out there who doesn’t want to see that game or even against the top clubs like Toulouse or La Rochelle.

Valetini was the hardest to leave off the list, he is the most physical player we have and an absolute battering ram. I would like to see him add another dimension to his game like a short passing or develop his offloading ability and then he could honestly be in the running for world player of the year but at the moment he is just our battering ram and teams know exactly what is coming when he gets the ball. Although it could be said that we aren’t using him well enough or are not asking that from him.
Hope and potential: The Wallabies who can be in the world class conversation
I would have liked to see Less Kiss join the wallabies during this spring tour or try to get him in camp next year to start to get an insight to the systems that are starting to be put in place to make the transition smoother going forward. He clearly is a popular figure in Queensland amongst the players and public, and the reds are playing an attractive style of footy which I think would suit Australia well.
As for Cheika, personally I rate him as a coach. He was handed a few shit sandwiches without the bread between 2014-19 but I think he’s a better coach now than he was back then so it’d be a shame for RA to not consider it.
RA wants Schmidt as Wallabies coach beyond Lions but that's no guarantee - and it's why they should speak to Cheika
