Whilst England may still be the old enemy of Australian cricket, India is now the number one modern-day rivalry of world cricket.
There are very few players currently playing right now that can lay claim to being the best in their club’s history. Scott Pendlebury certainly…
Geelong's collapse against St Kilda begs the question as to what the Cats' actual form is like heading into September.
Twice in two weeks, the Giants have had to come from behind in the last quarter to snatch the win from their opponents in Hawthorn and Brisbane respectively.
There is only three more weeks to go and every game matters for the jockeying for ladder positions. Ahead of a monstrous Round 22,…
The 2020 number one draft pick has kicked 37 goals for this year, and four in each of the past three games for the Western Bulldogs.
De Goey is a player usually stands up during games, his performances in the last four since he’s come back into the side, have been ordinary.
Part of Collingwood’s struggles this season has been the form slump of their captain in Darcy Moore.
Against Carlton, the Giants' season looked to be on life support - but GWS rediscovered their potent ball movement scoring 14 goals in two quarters.
We have a tearaway favourite, a logjam for positions in the top eight, and teams who are already looking forward to next year. As…
In 2024, Fremantle have been good in patches without quite putting it all together consistently.
This will amazingly be the first time the McKay brothers will play against each other since they were both drafted back in 2015.
For years, Victorian clubs despised the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) given to the Swans as it supposedly gave them an unfair advantage - but it just levelled the playing field.
Max King's improved performance against Melbourne will hopefully give Saints fans some optimism that he can lead the Saints to be more potent offensively.
If the Dockers want to make a statement and confirm their September credentials, it starts with a big game against the Premiers on Friday night.
Apart from one five-goal game, GWS forward Toby Greene has only kicked six goals from the other eight games. He's traditionally had success against the Western Bulldogs.
Tom Hawkins returns to familiar surroundings of Geelong - but is it the tonic he needs to regain some of his confidence back after a goalless four games.
Last, year in the second showdown, Adelaide destroyed Port by 47 points with a staggering 20 marks inside 50 with Tex Walker the main star.
Multicultural round was changed in 2018 showing that the AFL have not been as committed to multiculturalism as they should be.
Whilst you make some good points, I think we need to be cautious about overreacting to one bad performance. The dogs are one of the most lethal teams in the air and with the Swans injuries, they were always gonna be challenged in the air. Whilst McDonald and McLean are not the best tall targets, they still give them good representation and it’d be better to holistically rate them after a few more games.
Questions to ponder ahead of Round 21: Can Swans stop slump, Will Jamarra stay hot and is Mabior Chol in career-best form?
Absolutely Lefau has been on of the few shining lights for Tigers. Absolutely gutted he’s gone down. However they’d have some key personnel returning which may help their chances.
Questions to ponder ahead of Round 13: Which McKay brother will prevail, Can Pies bolster midfield and Can Tigers scare the Crows?
Thank you!!
Round 11 questions to ponder: Can Dockers prove top-eight credentials, will Suns stay hot, can Eagles win away?
How will Carlton kick through this impregnable Dees defence?
For the last 3 years, the Dees have had arguably the best defence in the competition with solid rebounders in Jake Lever, Steven May and more recently Tom McDonald who played a crucial role on Jeremy Cameron last week, freeing up Lever and May to play the interceptor role.
Whilst Geelong has a very potent forward line, the Demons restricted them to a mere 66 points, with both Jeremy Cameron and Tom Hawkins going goalless as the Cats were simply unable to bypass the Dees setup behind the ball effectively.
This would be a major concern for Michael Voss and Carlton on Thursday night given the Blues struggles to connect effectively forward due to an overdependence on main key talls in Charlie Curnow and Harry McKay.
Carlton simply has to find a way to diversify their ball movement beyond kicking long to Curnow and McKay otherwise you’d suspect the Dees defence will be able to negate these two talls and therefore make scoring very difficult for the Blues.
Questions to ponder ahead of Round 9: Can Hawkins reverse form, are Dons finals contenders and how will Harley go against Pies?
True Pearce is having a fantastic year! You cant really expect Weitering to stop all 3 of Amiss, Treacy and Taberner??
Questions to ponder ahead of Round 5: Are we sleeping on the Cats, Will West Coast's pain continue and How good are the Dees' forwards?
Whoops ???? didn’t realise that mistake, was so caught up in his good performance against Freo. Thanks for calling that out
Questions to ponder ahead of Round 5: Are we sleeping on the Cats, Will West Coast's pain continue and How good are the Dees' forwards?
That’s the other thing, I didn’t quite get to mention here. Their midfield looks amazing and it’ll be interesting to see their mix and how they use Fyfe and O’Meara
We're only three games in... but is this the year that Freo fans can finally dream of Flagmantle?
They just have so many, its crazy and impossible to list them all!! Best kicking team in the comp
Questions to ponder ahead of Round 3: Can the Pies be re-heated, Are Port the real deal, Can Jezza's form last for the Cats?
Ok but can we please appreciate Merrett. He personified the ‘edge’ or whatever you wanna call it and actually played a very good game of football. More of Essendon need to follow him in actually embodying this competitiveness in actual play
'The Essendon Edge': The Bombers are trying to fake it until they make it
Admittedly I am very young, well past EJ’s time so it would be difficult to compare the eras. As always, this is a subjective. For me, just seeing what Bont has done and the way he continues to amaze me, puts him up there however it may very be a different story if I was lucky enough to see EJ
Is Marcus Bontempelli the greatest to ever don the red, white and blue?
