You sound like Terry Alderman in commentary. If a fielder ran flat out and threw out a hand in desperation and grazed the ball,”bad miss there”..

Gee Thing, has anyone called you dull before,as in not the sharpest? Back in the drawer for you

I’ll give them Root and Brooks, but Atkinson? Smith? Big nah from me.

That’s a low bar you’ve set. I’m an oil painting myself, from the Impressionist school.
The Yanks have a standard for classic and vintage cars, the twenty footer . Any closer and all the flaws become visible. Also me

I would prefer feckish but that’s pure pedantry

As previously mentioned, Allan Knott.

269 dismissals from 95 Tests, average 32.75, five centuries,18000 first class runs, kept to Underwood. Allan Knott of course.
No byes was his mantra.

A couple of things to consider.
Firstly,Carey is competent and deserves his spot despite missed stumpings and catches and too many byes. He’s no Allan Knott.
He’s 33 and has let’s say 25 or even 30 Tests left to play.
With the poorly scheduled Shield seasons likely to continue till 2028/29, and the break in red-ball games likely to impact current Shield keepers throughout this period none of them are likely to get a look in until then.
Inglis is younger as is Phillipe, Pierson is older.
Who among the young state keepers will be considered? Joel Curtis has a heap of dismissals from seven games and is a decent bat. Other candidates?
The second thing is Whiteman. Talk about unlucky and badly timed injuries..
At one point WA had four keepers ,two Yorkshireman no less, who had kept at first-class level in the same side. I think Tasmania did too.

As in England/Wales you mean?
Mooney stars with smashing knock as Aussies annihilate England to retain Ashes
England have been much better in the recent past but their best players are struggling,I guess due to lack of depth in the side.
They desperately need a fielding coach, not one of ours though.

And two lobbed just over the rope,BTW.

What has Inglis done wrong?

Dispassionate passion is the go here.
If he goes, well and good, but not at Connolly’s expense, oh no.

Nonlinear progression from acute to chronic. Go and make a nuisance of yourself. The world is counting on it.
Apathy is not a path.

And whose responsibility is that?
Without the BBL players wouldn’t face a ball or bowl one,but without the Shield they couldn’t show their abilities or get picked on form.
Do I have that right?
Connolly,as unlikely as it might be that he be picked, at least has the most runs in this season’s BBL, has carried a weak side and shown his clutch quality…

You’re keen on Glenn. But the selectors are not. Soldier on

The six sixes he just hit wouldn’t even make it to the boundary at Galle.
He hits a lot of elevated shots out of reach, but Test standard, not really.
A while ago, sure but he’s built a whiteball game and hasn’t had a Shield score in yonks

Winning the Golden Bat… And Behrendorff leading the wicket takers, Morris close behind.
Clutch Connolly keeps Scorchers in finals contention before jetting off to Sri Lanka
Tim Ward is in the Hurricanes side.
Ashes hopefuls cop major blow with Ward smashing a century in England thrashing
See Curtis, in my other post.
Numbers don’t lie when it comes to the majority of Aussie Test team being in fading final phase of their career
Joel Curtis is 25 and has 31 first-class wickets,(27 catches and 7 stumpings) from 7 games and averages 35 including a decent hundred. One to watch out for.
An injury wrecked Whiteman’s wicket keeping career, not that I’d wish that on Carey.

He did end up with 18000 first class runs, more than most if not all, on this dartboard list.
