And in the Tetris feed. If required:

Redmayne, Mack, Carey, Burns, Wilson, Learoyd, Webb, Knott

Faltum is a much better batter than she realises reckon. Plenty of upside

And a 32yo up and comer MM Lanning playing for the Vics.

Mooney stars with smashing knock as Aussies annihilate England to retain Ashes

Thanks!

Maybe Manuka but the lure of the MCG would have been massive. A bit of a step up from Nth Sydney, even though it was great being there for that game in 17-18.

Maisy took my daughter for Milo cricket years ago, before Tassie and the Hurricanes came knocking. She is a great “kid”.

I watch a lot more of the women then I do the men. Especially in person.

Talent to burn. A whole generation will miss out I reckon.

India were dire out here.

Their bowling is suddenly Premier level, other than Vrastakar

SA were better with Ismail, Mignon, chetty, Lizelle and Dane. Got some good kids and at least their mid level players like De Klerk give 110%.

NZ have Devine and Kerr. Nobody has come thru, whilst Satterthwaite, McGlashan, Bates and Tahuhu are gone, or may as well be. We destroyed them in the WC

Averaged 150 against us. Or so it seemed

Even aged 35, his last dig was 70* at 8 to save the 5th test and deny poor Kim a more appropriate 2-3 scoreline

I think they focussed last night on taking pace off. And it worked

I think it went up but has plateaued or even receded in the last two years

They change it up nearly every time. It was first last time

Faltum to keep

Ainsworth Bray Hamilton and Flintoff for the pace

I wouldn’t open with Litchfield. We need to find the Haynes to rebuild the middle order around. Plenty of openers around eg Tahlia Wilson

Wellington has the variety but gets overlooked for a variety of reasons

King has a wrong in but struggles to land it – she says it’s because she has small hands

Wareham traditionally bowled toppies and sliders but she spins the leggie a bit more. Situational, I guess. Have never seen a googly from her in 8 years

Amy Smith has all the tricks and a dose of King’s confidence

Maisy Gibson has 2-3 types of leggies and a 7/10 googly. Her knees probably limit the amount she can rip it. Pretty good standard 5th best leggie..

Grace Parsons from Qld/Heat has the big reputation but I won’t watch those teams unless Sixers/NSW are playing

It’s interesting to me that we didn’t find longevity in our premiership list

Jack was the oldest but also gone well before. Dusty was done by 32 really. Astbury went young. Castagna went very young. We went off Caddy.

My point being we bled a lot of Premiership experience. For no real return. Grigg and Lambert being too crocked to continue, that sort of thing

Rance.. people forget that, we lost the AA fullback at 29, for no return.

I think these losses are a factor in considering the pace of our fall and the constraints on our rebuild, even before the great clean out of 2024.

The failure or unwillingness to strengthen while we were best, other than Lynch… if we had our time again? Did nobody want to come, was the closed shop the great strength but also then a weakness? It was it the cap, and Dusty and Lynch.

(This then makes the Taranto and Hopper play too little too late, ironically.)

McCullum unveils blueprint for Bazball pace aces to be firing for Ashes in bid to ‘blow Aussies away’

Noting that Maxwell was going to come in for Watson in 12-13 at home. Replacing a top 4 batter

Will Australia have the Galle to play just one fast bowler in Sri Lanka - Starc or Boland for solitary role?

Yes correct. I live in Sydney and we all knew how good his batting was. Differentiate that from the chatter around the selection.

Not true re Maxwell. Because he was in the white ball teams first that doesn’t mean everyone saw him as a white ball allrounder / at best. His 11-12 shield season was a Connolly prequel

It helps people to try and pigeonhole, but then talent bursts the player out

Will Australia have the Galle to play just one fast bowler in Sri Lanka - Starc or Boland for solitary role?

He should step down from the tour.

Oh…

Smith under cloud for Sri Lanka as Kuhnemann clings onto hope despite broken thumb

You said 6.

But you only have to hit them for 6. Where there are no fielders

Very judicious, test quality batting, as usual, from the great One.

Smith under cloud for Sri Lanka as Kuhnemann clings onto hope despite broken thumb

They were seen as batters who were potentially good enough spinners to hold down that role as a first stint a test team – because we had a gap there

Same now

Connolly’s bowling is better than Maxi’s.

It’s two games and two weeks

Rioli had 75% uncontested disposals. Had 26 1%ers in 24 games. Won 11 frees all season. Kicked 6 goals

Seriously, with the amount of ball coming in, the lack of other players on the back half and the low expectations of the coach, someone was always going to be the least worst player on the back half.

4 Brownlow votes all year sums it up.

Have tonne the worst “good season” ever?

Luckily Gold Coast fell for it.

Richmond pressure gauge 2025: The premiership star who owes the Tigers big time

Play Hopper in the Caddy role

play Taranto forward sometimes. Kicking for goal is his best kicking

Richmond pressure gauge 2025: The premiership star who owes the Tigers big time

Lynch earned his money in 2019 which we don’t win without him. And he was very good in the Covid premiership year that was hard on forwards

He then had an absolutely stellar year in 22.

And was looking good in both his last two “ruined by injury” years.

If he’s fit, he will fire, and fire up

If he’s not,oh well, two time premiership star.

Don’t start me.

Aussies surely can’t repeat churn and burn McSweeney mistake with Konstas if Head goes to opener

It was so cleverly cynical for Ussie to go “I just kept getting Bumrahed.” As if competing with the opposition’s best bowler, when you are the senior batter and only experienced opener, is not part of the job description.

Entitlement in Sydney is added to the water.
