Who is the VC in this team ? If Pat Cummins is unable to play for any reason, who is going to lead this team .. Marsh ? Smith ? or Head ?
Cummins no guarantee to make Champions Trophy, Marsh recalled despite form slump, young Renegade axed
There is an Option 5. Drop him. Let him go back full force into domestic cricket. Score some good decent and confident runs against pace and spin. And then force himself back into National team. he is 30ish. He has few more years of competitive cricket.
How do you solve a problem like Marnus? The four options facing selectors as dry spell turns into drought
With his performance in the recent BGT, Scott Boland has once again proved that he is as good as, if not better than, the other regular bowlers in the team. His selection in the team should, from now on, be a mere formality.
Is Boland in the best team now … and who misses out? Six burning questions Australia must answer before the Ashes
Skewed selection. Australia already into WCT finals. Lost a chance to rest seniors and groom young talent. Making Smith the skipper is a retrograde step. Head could have been the captain.
Aussie squad CONFIRMED: Rookie bolter, Smith to captain, McSweeney returns for Sri Lanka tour
Disgraceful, pathetic and low class behaviour by Aussie Cricket Admn in snubbing Gavaskar for the presentation of Border Gavaskar Trophy.
'Would have loved to': Gavaskar hits out at trophy snub, Kohli's 'garbage' sandpaper sledge, Konstas savaged for 'almighty slog'
You are right. Travis Head should be the man to lead. Considering the pitches, Nathan Lyon will likely feature in all matches. It would be nice if he is named as the Vice Captain for this tour. Since Australia has already qualified for the WTC finals, this tour can be used to test and groom new talent by resting few seniors like, Smith, Khawaja, Labuschagne, Starc etc.,
Test Mortem: Head should be captain on tour, Carey’s glovework like clockwork and Kohli's future bleak with India imploding
Scott Boland is phenomenal. Deserves every bit of praise, success, accolades. He is a role model for all cricketers both young and old. Hardworking, committed, absolute loyalty and focus. He has made himself indispensable by sheer magnitude of his performance in this series. Hats off to this gentleman of a player.
Flem’s Verdict: Aussies have a Big Four with Boland no longer a back-up, SCG pitch not up to scratch and Beau knows Test cricket
What was the rationale behind not inviting Gavaskar, when he was at the venue, for presenting the Border-Gavaskar Trophy ? This is so cheap and pathetically vindictive on part of the entire Cricket management setup in Australia who seems to have had an astounding brain freeze. The explanation that if India would have won then Gavaskar could have been there, is simply idiotic. Shows what a loss of Class the Aussies have suffered in this series. It also proves, again, that Australia was lucky to win and India were unlucky to get some terrible umpiring decisions against them and Gavaskar was snubbed because he spoke about the umpiring / technology errors.
Malcolm Conn: Webster and Konstas bring the spirit the Aussies desperately need to rejuvenate line-up
Yes This Aussie team is mediocre. They won due to lots of luck and some crucial umpiring decisions given in their favour. Nothing classy or greatness about this Aussie team, except Scot Boland for his commitment to the team cause. In Konstas , they have yet another player with questionable talent but lots of misplaced immature arrogance and miserably trying to be street smart. Bigger tragedy is that he is being encouraged by his team mates and the team coach.
'Immensely proud': Ruthless Aussies put inept India to the sword to break decade-long Border-Gavaskar Trophy drought
This is absurd. Konstas had no business to enter into something between Bumrah and Khawaja. Instead of advising the inexperienced young kid for his misplaced boorish arrogance, the Aussie coach is “lashing out at India” .
'Tough sport played by tough men': Indian coach hits back after McDonald claims they 'intimidated' Konstas
I didn’t know that If some one posts facts and not in line with the majority opinion , then it is termed as rubbish.
India fuming over controversial Jaiswal dismissal as Cummins gets sweet vindication in Australia’s epic MCG win
Generalising critics as typical Indian is on expected lines. 99.9 % Australians agreeing with a decision not in their favour is great fun fact.
India fuming over controversial Jaiswal dismissal as Cummins gets sweet vindication in Australia’s epic MCG win
Agree with you. Almost all responses to my post lacked class.
India fuming over controversial Jaiswal dismissal as Cummins gets sweet vindication in Australia’s epic MCG win
I am Indian. But how does it matter if my comments are based on what is really happening. I am bemused at few replies to my post here, which are personal and not in good taste.
India fuming over controversial Jaiswal dismissal as Cummins gets sweet vindication in Australia’s epic MCG win
The decision to give Jaiswal as out was as pathetic as the glee with which the Australian team celebrated a horrendous decision by the third umpire in their favour. This Australian team is riding on lots of luck. India lost because of their own mistakes and not because of anything classy and truly great play from Australian team.

Crazy indeed.

Smith, Cummins land heavy blows before run-out blunder and Boland magic send India to the canvas in Boxing Day Test
Cummins produced some thing very special to get rid of the inform KL Rahul. What a delivery !
Smith, Cummins land heavy blows before run-out blunder and Boland magic send India to the canvas in Boxing Day Test
Exactly.. This silly “outrage” over Kohli’s bump, coming from an Aussie is laughable to say the least , when you know how saintly these Aussies players are.
Kid Konstas is amazing but King Kohli is a disgrace and should’ve been banned for shoulder charge
This article sucks. Absolute trash and pathetic. This mindset… is it typical Aussie ? What is the need, objective and reason for this spectacular piece of nonsense?
Precious and paranoid: Indian players don’t even trust each other as they treat fans and media with contempt
You are right mate. My comments on similar lines have been withheld by ROAR., don’t know why.. may be too strong and too political for these people. This particular article is too confusing, uncalled for, doesn’t serve any purpose other than showing the all too familiar Aussie mindset in such cases.
Test Mortem: Siraj won’t back down as part of 'new India' mantra, Marnus to ton up at Gabba and Pant falls apart at seams
Absolute disgrace. Don’t jump to defend Head as he is no saint. He may be a good batsman but a repulsive character who thinks that he can get away with sly and stupid comments and later sob in a public press conference saying that he only said.. blah blah..
I don’t think this Head character represents the spirit of Australian cricket.
'It's a lie... he abused me': Siraj's staggering Head claim amid send-off drama as Aussie star hits back
This Konstas lad is a noteworthy talent. Gives some comfort to know he is available as another option for the test opener slot.
Konstas catapults back into Test contention by blasting ton as big guns return for India
Rashid Khan from AFG is an extremely potent leg spinner in world cricket for men, today. However, I am not sure whether he fully meets your description “who genuinely drifts the ball to leg and spins it past the outside edge of the Right hander”. The other regular active leg pinners are Wanindu Hasaranga, Yuzvendra Chahal, Adil Rashid and Adam Zampa.
Ageing ODI side worse than Aussie Test team when it comes to futureproofing - Konstas should be put on fast track
