What about Connolly? If he’s picked, would he get many overs? He seems more of a project player and I’m just not sure how they’d use him.
Will Australia have the Galle to play just one fast bowler in Sri Lanka - Starc or Boland for solitary role?
I think Greg Chappell did as well.
There’s gotta be a Roar article there somewhere: all time Aussie XI who debuted at 8.

I wonder if Mr Bunsen realised how often he would come up in sub continent pitch discussions? It’s a clever bit of marketing.

Smith under cloud for Sri Lanka as Kuhnemann clings onto hope despite broken thumb
McSweeney. Give him a decent run and if he can hold his spot I’d hope he is the man.

Who’s Tony Jones?

Maxi is on fire in the BBL. Let him keep the roll on and he could lead (whatever team he plays for) to a mind blowing victory.
If he comes out of the (whatever team he plays for) squad, it’d suck for BBL fans wanting to see him in the semis.
Love Maxi and I reckon he deserved more Tests, but he like Bison is a white baller now.

Dear Smudge,
Don’t go see a specialist. Rule yourself out. Play in the BBL if you like but for the sake of Roar harmony, just let this one go.
You’ll still get 10000 runs and we won’t have to listen to Brayshaw calling it.
McSweeney can come in. Head can skipper. Or Uzzie can skipper if he retires after the tour.
There’s so much hope resting on your elbow, Smudge. You don’t even need to look for your hands.
Kindest regards
The Roar Universe

Yep Smudge can stay home and lay a load of bats on the floor and compare and practice. Rest will do him good.

Numbers don’t lie when it comes to the majority of Aussie Test team being in fading final phase of their career
Sounds like an incredibly tough, clever and tenacious bloke your dad.
I remember Viv Richards in 91 against the Aussies where the Windies won 2 – 1. Viv scored 2 50s for the series. One in the drawn first test, the 2nd coming in at 3 – 353 already five runs ahead of Australia in the 2nd Test.
Apart from his aura it wasn’t the same Viv. I think he did well against the minnows in his last series but in fairness it was the minnows…
Punter was another one who hung around when he was past his prime. Kohli seems to be doing the same. I guess they feel like they can still turn it round and can prove people wrong. Stubborn lot, Test cricketers.

Hey Bernie
Ben did an extremely thorough statistical analysis of the contribution of centuries Mark Wau…
JOKING! I’m only joking!
Ben does really funny historical retellings of Australia and famous Australians. Like I never knew how boss Caroline Chisholm was and John McArthur had a bunch of sheep and did everything he could to make money and take over as much land as he could.
First I read was Error Australis then Mad Dogs and Thunderbolts, where Ben erroneously argues that Australia has more bushrangers than Ned Kelly.
Most recent one I read was Second Best until the dog ate it. So I had to buy a replacement to give to the library. Lousy dog.
Ben’s review questions at the end of each chapter are classic.
I expect Ben will put me on his payroll after this.

Aaah of course. I completely forgot those. I think he debuted with Joe Mennie and they both took some stick.
I never thought Tremain would kick on despite his Shield record. Some players have great Shield careers and that’s kinda it.

Hey Phil, sadly I read that too. So disappointing that Flanno is showing awareness and forward planning by not getting Lodge.
We are unloading props like they are cumbersome lumbering dead weight. One Siafiti, Leo Thompson are both gone and they are trying to unload Jack Hetherington from his dumbly overpriced contract. At this stage our props will be Jackson Hastings and Jayden Brailey.

I hope Talakai absolutely smashes it off the bench. A bloke who can play centre or 2nd row would be a great option off the bench in Origin.
So sharks do all you can to make Talakai look good.
